Bet Sizing Calculator
Estimate a practical casino bet size based on your bankroll, session budget, risk level, and table limits.
How this calculator works
This tool compares your session budget, total bankroll, selected risk level, table minimum, and expected number of rounds. It then estimates a bet size that keeps the session plan more controlled.
Bankroll
Your bankroll is the total gambling money you are prepared to risk for the period you are planning.
Session budget
Your session budget is the amount you are prepared to lose in one visit, sitting, or online session.
Theoretical loss
Theoretical loss is total expected action multiplied by the estimated house edge.
Bet sizing rules of thumb
- About 1% of the session budget is conservative.
- About 2% of the session budget is balanced.
- About 5% or more of the session budget is aggressive.
- Table minimums can force bad bankroll decisions.
- Larger bets increase session volatility and can end a session quickly.
What bet sizing cannot do
Bet sizing is useful for risk control, but it is not a magic shield. It cannot change the house edge, predict results, make negative-expectation games profitable, or protect a player who keeps increasing bets after losses.
