Super 6 Baccarat Rules

The rules of Super 6 Baccarat are simple, but the payout rule matters. The game uses normal baccarat drawing rules, then changes the Banker payout when Banker wins with a total of 6. That one payout change is the whole reason the casino can advertise no commission without giving away the store.

Direct answer: Super 6 Baccarat is the “Banker 6 pays half” version of no-commission baccarat. Most Banker wins pay even money, but Banker wins with a total of 6 pay 1:2.

The Short Answer

Super 6 Baccarat follows normal baccarat dealing rules, but winning Banker bets pay half when Banker wins with 6. Other Banker wins usually pay even money. Player wins usually pay even money. Tie pays according to the table, often 8:1 or 9:1.

Main Bets

The main bets are Banker, Player, and Tie. Some tables add pairs, Super 6, Lucky 6, or other side bets. Those extras are not required to play the main game.

Banker and Player are the serious bets. Tie and side bets are the shiny distractions. That does not mean you can never bet them, but you should know they usually cost more over time.

Banker Bet Rules

The Banker bet wins when the Banker hand finishes closer to 9 than the Player hand. In Super 6, most Banker wins pay 1:1. The exception is Banker winning with a final total of 6, which pays 1:2.

If Banker and Player tie, Banker bets usually push. Always check the felt, but that is the common baccarat rule.

Player Bet Rules

The Player bet wins when the Player hand finishes closer to 9 than the Banker hand. Player wins usually pay 1:1. The Super 6 half-pay rule does not cut Player payouts.

The Player side does not have the same built-in second-action advantage as Banker, but it also avoids the Banker 6 half-pay rule.

Tie Bet Rules

The Tie bet wins when Banker and Player end with the same total. It usually pays 8:1 or 9:1, depending on the casino. When a Tie happens, Banker and Player bets usually push.

Tie is easy to understand and hard to justify as a regular bet. High payout, low hit rate, unfriendly long-term math.

Banker 6 Pays Half

This is the headline rule. If Banker wins with a final total of 6, a winning Banker bet pays half. This applies whether the 6 came from two cards or three cards, unless your casino has a special rule printed on the layout.

Example: You bet $40 on Banker. Banker beats Player with 6. You win $20, not $40.

What Happens on a Tie

If both hands finish with the same total, the hand is a Tie. Tie bets win. Banker and Player bets normally do not win or lose; they push. The dealer may leave them up for the next hand or return them depending on house procedure.

Natural 8 and Natural 9

A natural is a two-card total of 8 or 9. Naturals usually stop the drawing action. If both sides have naturals, the higher natural wins. If both sides have the same natural total, the result is a Tie.

Super 6 does not change this. Again, the variant lives in the payout, not the drawing rules.

Third-Card Rules

The Player side usually draws on 0 through 5 and stands on 6 or 7. Banker’s third-card rule is more detailed because Banker reacts to Player’s action and, when Player draws, to Player’s third card. The dealer handles this automatically.

Players do not need to memorize the full chart to play, but they should know one thing: you cannot make decisions during the hand. No betting system changes the draw.

Side Bet Rules

The Super 6 side bet is separate from the main Banker bet. It usually wins when Banker wins with 6. Some versions pay different amounts for two-card and three-card Banker 6. Other tables use a flat payout.

Read the felt before betting side bets. A small payout change can make a big difference.

Rule Variations to Watch For

  • Banker 6 half-pay on all Banker 6 wins or only specific Banker 6 wins.
  • Tie paying 8:1 or 9:1.
  • Super 6 side bet paying 12:1, 20:1, or split by card count.
  • Pair side bets added to the layout.

The safest rule is simple: read the table layout before you play. The felt is the contract.
